Senior Vice President, Core Shared Services Research & Development, Amadeus
In 2017, Denis was appointed Senior Vice President, Core Shared Services R&D (CSS R&D) and joined the Amadeus Executive Committee. The CSS R&D unit aims to deliver shared capabilities across all Amadeus’ businesses. This includes critical areas such as reservation, issuance, content, shopping & pricing, payment. Also the unit has the mission to strengthen and empower the Amadeus engineering community by offering robust test systems, developing methods and tools, and supporting application architecture.
Denis held the position of Vice-President of R&D-RDM (Reservation, Distribution, and Mid & Back-Office) from 2013 to 2017. The RDM Product Engineering Group was responsible for the delivery of Amadeus' core reservation services: Distribution and Airline IT businesses, profile management, payment solutions, the Advertising Platform, Distribution front-end products (such as the e-Travel Management corporate self-booking tool, the Amadeus Selling Platform and Selling Platform Connect front-offices), and Amadeus' range of mid and back-office products (such as Agency Manager, AiMO, Gestour and Modus).
Between 2007-2012, Denis was VP of the DEV-SEP division (Sales & e-commerce Platforms). In this role he was responsible for the delivery of Amadeus’ entire range of Sales and e-Commerce Platforms: the e-Retail B2C web offering for airlines, travel agencies, and hoteliers; the e-Travel Management corporate, self-booking tool; the Amadeus Selling Platform front-office and portal for Travel Agencies, Altéa Reservation Desktop for airline call centres, airport and city ticket offices, and also Checkmytrip.com.
Prior to this, between 2002-2007 Denis held the position Director, Product Development, for the e-Travel product development and operations teams in Nice and Boston, improving and enhancing the e-Travel consumer, corporate and portal product range.
Denis began his career with Amadeus in 1989. Some early roles included the position Director, Amadeus OCG (Online Corporate Group), Product Design & Development, and Director of Development for Amadeus' Distributed Systems division, leading the design and development of Amadeus' Front Office Systems for airlines and travel agencies.
Denis is a seasoned travel industry developer with many years of experience working in Amadeus' development operation. He has demonstrated his understanding of customer requirements, and is considered a pioneer of Web technology within Amadeus. Before joining Amadeus, Denis was a senior software engineer for the Digital Equipment Corporation and IBM's Yorktown Heights Research Laboratories in New York, USA.
A French national, Denis graduated from the Ecole Centrale de Paris.
